Judy Koonce

WOW Ministries presents Judy Koonce

“On the journey with you” - this phrase can summarize the approach and feeling you get as Judy Koonce speaks to your heart and addresses your needs.  She is a woman who has experienced life, both the trials and the triumphs, and she is ready to share with you the formula that God has given her to be a Woman of Worth.  Sharing in a straightforward and compassionate way, that only a fellow traveler can, Judy will address the issues that concern women in the various stages of their journey with practical and Biblical solutions.

Judy has experienced the challenges of being a child of divorce and eventually adoption, as well as being a young woman growing up in the Sixties and desiring not to compromise her values and convictions.  She has faced the challenge of being a wife in full time ministry and raising children in the midst of a busy and hectic schedule.  She has lived life as a survivor, and her experiences will inspire and comfort women of all ages that a victorious life can be had today!  Judy’s wit, candor and transparency brings a refreshing, real atmosphere in ministering to women wherever she travels.

Judy lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband Herb where they minister in a local church ministry as they have done, side by side, for the past 41 years.  She is the mother of three children who are serving in ministry around the world in Columbus, Ohio; Nairobi, Kenya; and Tyler, Texas. She speaks across the country challenging women to live above the mediocrity of the world and not to believe the negative images put upon them.  She is the founder of WOW - Women of Worth ministries and has been instrumental in the founding and directing of women’s ministry in both New England and the Midwest.

Judy’s magnetism and realness allow a bond to form from which she is then able to minister to the heart needs of today’s Christian woman.  Her real life stories and sometimes hilarious experiences reflect a woman who is truly on the journey with you.  Drawing from a life lived in reality, Judy addresses topics such as Raising Dynamic Kids in the Millennium, Being A Woman of Destiny and Influence, Getting the Rocks Out of the Mattress, and A Formula for Successful Marriage.  Judy is a Hope giver in a world in desperate need of answers that are practical and real.

Sweet Land of Liberty – appreciating our freedom  in Christ - Bobbi Radeck

Bobbi Radeck is yet another dramatically changed life by the grace and power of Jesus Christ!  Born and raised by her adopted parents in Jackson, Michigan, Bobbi grew up in a household of criticism, negativity and abuse.  Her parents were also survivors of the same.  However, by the dawn of her teenage years, she was looking for contentment in all the wrong areas. Even though she attended church regularly throughout her childhood, she never understood that walking with God meant a relationship, not religion!  Transformation followed Bobbi after years of searching in all the wrong areas. Looking for validation and purpose in all the wrong places. At the age of 31, with years of abusing alcohol and herself, she gave her life to Christ and has never looked back.  Today, Bobbi lives with her husband Rodger of 23 years, daughters Christina 22, Catelyn 17, and Connor 14. Bobbi has dedicated her life to bring the good news of Christ, Liberty and making a difference in your sphere of influence.  She is the State Director for Concerned Women of America Ohio, a Biblically based , 30 years old Public  Policy organization based out of Washington, D.C. CWA concentrates itself and it’s members on Prayer, Education and Action.

Home Sweet Home – understanding your place in God’s Family (service, etc) - Roxann Byrd

Born and raised in a Christian home, I was saved early and made many spiritual decisions by my mid-teens.  One summer, at Camp Chautauqua Sr. High Camp, I surrendered my life to be the wife of a Pastor.  Little did I know then, what a wonderful blessing laid in store for me!  God sent me the perfect man, who is my best friend, the love of my life and my pastor at West Chester Baptist Church.  From that union has come 3 beautiful girls, one born just a week before our 25th wedding anniversary!  From our ministry together, came one beautiful red-headed stepchild whom we "adopted" via the bus ministry in Northern Kentucky!  I have been blessed to speak and sing at many Tri-state churches for women's conferences, luncheons, dinners and retreats. (Which I love to do!)  I have a full-time job and host a weekly Brown Bag Bible Study at lunch.  I have a special love for my place in the Escape ministry.  My dear friend, Jeannie Jones asked me to be on the first team when Escape was born out of the Ashland Avenue Spring Retreat in 2003.  I was honored then and I am truly BLESSED now to be part of this incredible weekend of worship and joy shared with the most precious women found anywhere! This great weekend includes some of my favorite activities - time with friends, good food, fun and shopping - all under one roof !

Sweet Savings - Teaching You To Stretch A Dollar In An Ever Tightening Economy - Michelle Kirkhart

Born in Elkhart, Indiana, Michelle Kirkhart has been bargain shopping since she was big enough to carry a shopping bag. She attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri where God blessed her with a wonderful husband. The two now reside in Ozark, Missouri with their daughter, Kailey.   After making the decision to leave teaching in order to raise their daughter, Michelle began searching out ways to stretch their budget while still helping provide for their family. By the grace of God, she now owns a growing small business and uses blogging as a resource to teach others how to stretch their budget using easy, practical methods.

Sweet, Sweet Spirit – allowing others to taste God’s sweetness in you - Kathy Harmon

Kathy Harmon is known for her smile, her joy, her laughter!  Many times the question asked, “Where does your joy come from?”  Kathy’s reply, “It’s not my joy; it’s a joy that radiates from my Father above!”

Fourteen years ago, during the dreaded empty nest syndrome. Kathy could sense her spirit changing from sweet to bitter.  “Lord, please keep me sweet,” became her daily request.  She began to realize the secret to this is all wrapped up in one little word…..,hummm she will share  this and more with you as you escape to Escape 2010.

Kathy’s husband Mike Harmon, their two adult children, their spouses, four grandchildren, the dear people of Louisville Baptist Temple have such a big part in her joy, as they are her helpers of GREAT JOY!

Kathy grew up in a Pastor’s home, she is one of ten children. Godly parents and a godly home set a good foundation for the godly joy in Kathy’s life.   Kathy graduated from Baptist Bible College, where she met her husband Mike, the love and joy of her life.   In 1978, the Harmon’s were approved as Baptist Bible Fellowship Missionaries to the country of Brazil, while in Brazil God enabled them to start a church, that church is still functioning today.  In 1983 they accepted the call from their home church as Pastor of the Louisville Baptist Temple. This November will mark their 27th year anniversary with their church family.

Kathy works in the church office as secretary, her ministry involvement has included Children’s/Youth Ministries, Vacation Bible School, Music Ministry, Senior’s Ministry, Youth Camps, and Missions Trips.  She currently is active with Discipleship Ministry, Counseling, Leader of the W.O.W. Ministry (ladies ministries), her most enjoyable ministry is her Sunday School Class a class for G.I.F.T.E.D. WOMEN!  Joy to Kathy is people.  God loved people more than anything so it makes sense that true joy certainly comes from her Father above.

Sweet Kisses from Heaven – recognizing God’s blessings - Dolly King

Dolly King is the mother of four delightful adult children.   Her two youngest still live at home with her in Middletown, Ohio.  She is active in women’s ministries in her home church, Berachah Baptist, also located in Middletown.

Dolly and her husband, Al, were missionaries to Ukraine for ten years.  There they established works for Russian-speaking nationals, English-speaking and Chinese-speaking internationals, and Crimean Tatars (Muslims).  They planned their furloughs around the graduations of their children and would come back to the states for a few months those years.

In 2007, they came back for the graduation of their youngest, Annie.  With mixed feelings they were planning to go back to Ukraine as empty-nesters.   They were even making plans for their upcoming silver anniversary.  However, God had different plans.  In August, 2007, Al was diagnosed with a stage four brain tumor.  He died in April, 2008.

Dolly has been back to Ukraine on several occasions and has founded Centers for LIFE International.   The first Center will be opened in Simferopol, Ukraine, the city where they lived and served.  Abortion is the number one form of birth control in the former Soviet Union, and these Centers will be opened to help women and their families chose LIFE.

One 2010 Escape registration

In order to be entered for the special give-away drawings, your entries must be registered at the ‘Door Prize Entry’ table located near the registration table no later than 9:00am Saturday.

The following are a few questions we have received in the past.  Generally speaking, a door prize should be a gift anyone would enjoy receiving or just think ‘would I want to win this?’.  Keeping this thought in mind will answer many questions you may have.

Is there a dollar value requirement for my door prize entry?  No

How many door prize entries should our church bring?  Bring as many as you like.  The more prizes contributed equals more ladies taking home a prize.

Where do I drop off a door prize entry?  At the door prize entry table near the registration table.

Do I need to label the door prize entry?  Yes, please label each entry with the name and address of your church.  This will aide in the registration of the door prize entry and the winner appreciates knowing which church made the donation.

How will my church be registered for the special drawings?  Door prize entries will be registered at the door prize entry table.  Your church’s name will be entered for each door prize entry.

How many door prize entries are required?  There is no given requirement per church, give as many as you like.  The more contributions we have, the more ladies leave with a prize!

Does the door prize entry have to be in a basket?  Baskets, gift bags, boxes.  Please keep in mind the entries will be on display near the stage throughout Escape.  Be creative.

When is the latest my door prize entry can be registered?  9:00am Saturday.

Can I pre-register our church’s door prize entries?  Yes, and that would be very helpful!  You may pre-register your door prize entry by sending a quick note to Door Prize Email or calling Connie Bell at 513-625-1624 letting us know your church’s name and how many door prize entries you will be bringing.
